Enterprise Miner¶
Prerequisites¶
SAS Enterprise Miner is a Windows-only application. Windows users just need to install the client available from the website.
For Mac users, we have installed the Windows client in various classrooms and computer labs, as well as virtualized the app for access off campus.
Note that you will still need the VPN to use the Enterprise Miner client from off campus.
Windows Access¶
Open a web browser and navigate to: https://dssasgrid.kennesaw.edu/SASEnterpriseMinerClientDownload/Status
Here you can download the client and get the environment URL that the installer requests.
Virtual Access¶
For Mac users, go to https://ksuview.kennesaw.edu/. You will be presented with 2 options: install the VMWare Horizon client or use HTML access. The client is free and offers better performance. After clicking the link, check the list of downloads for your operation system. Click the link to visit the download page, then the actual download link.
Run the installer and follow the prompts. Drag and drop the VMWare Horizon Client icon to the applications folder to complete the installation.
If prompted for a connection, put in the URL https://ksuview.kennesaw.edu/. When you log in, it will open a web browser. Use your full student email and netID password, plus Duo 2FA.
You will see a link to the General Student Lab. Cilck the Open link.
Once logged into a Windows environment, open the start menu and look for SAS ⇒ SAS Enterprise Miner Client 15.2. Use the default SAS Environment and log in with your netID and password (NOT the full student email). Things may be a little slow when using the HTML version.
WARNING: Data saved in the Windows virtual machine is NOT persistent and will be deleted once you log out. This includes anything you can access through the Windows file system.
Any data accessed through Enterprise Miner itself will be persistent, since it's hosted on the SAS Grid.
